The Florida Coontie, often referred to as the Coontie Palm, is the only cycad native to Florida. Resembling a small palm, it brings a lush, tropical vibe to any setting. Coonties are drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and fairly salt-resistant. They also serve as the host plant for the caterpillar of the rare Atala butterfly.
