Cymbopogon citratus

Lemongrass, also called Citronella grass, grows in attractive, upright clumps with slightly arching, light green leaves that have a strong lemon scent. This tender perennial can be kept indoors in a sunny spot during the winter. Whether planted in the ground or in containers, lemongrass is a great companion plant thanks to its insect-repelling qualities. The citronella it contains helps deter mosquitoes, stable flies, and various pests like whiteflies and aphids.
